What's Involved?

Let us share the delights of maple syrup season and life on the farm. This special 90-minute outdoor experience is offered weekends during maple season, and geared at school-age kids (accompanied by an adult). Come dressed for outdoor fun - including mud and melt water! Val will invite you along on a guided romp through the sugarbush, providing ample time for free exploring in the woods and lots of questions... and, of course, tasting in the sugar shack! We'll head to our barn to meet and interact with our friendly livestock. This is for the kid in ALL of us!! - Enjoy a warm Heartwood welcome and a kid-friendly orientation to maple syrup making - Explore our sugarbush with a maple-focused scavenger hunt - Get your hands on some of the tools and tasks to help us collect sap and make maple syrup - Check out the smells and tastes as the sap turns to syrup in our outdoor sugar shack - Follow Val to the farmyard to meet our pigs, chickens, sheep, llamas, cows and horse - Learn about the important jobs each animal has on the farm - Interact with the animals and help Val with some of the chores Tickets must be purchased in advance - book your spot below! No dogs please (farm animals find even the cutest ones stressful!) Come prepared for mud season!
